Shaded path at the bottom of Gordes

Inspired by my walks around this Provençal village.

This path is at the foot of the hill. I put my easel so close that the top of the canvas is occupied by the dark background of the hill, which thus takes the place of the sky.

This layout gives the whole a particular light by increasing the contrast with the shadows cast.

It further enhances those beautiful fall colors.
